What Is Les Encres Cosmetic Thread Treatment?

Les Encres cosmetic thread treatment uses slowly dissolving threads (absorbable sutures) — tiny micro-thread,s similar to those that are used in cardiac surgery — to tighten facial skin. The threads are placed under the skin using a specially designed cannula, so nothing is visible on the surface of the skin from the procedure.
They stimulate a natural healing reaction that triggers a surge in the production of collagen, which prolongs the rejuvenating effects of thread treatment. Even after the threads have dissolved, the skin continues to retain a more youthful tone.
Different types of threads are used for different restorative effects. During our consultation, we will discuss different options with you to see if you are a good candidate for smooth threads.
Smooth threads are absorbable surgical polydioxanone (PDO) threads that can be used virtually anywhere on the face or body. Thinner than hair and made of protein, the threads are inserted below the skin to elicit a mild injury that the body responds to by adding structural proteins (fibrin, elastin, collagen), resulting in a smoother, plumper appearance. They are absorbed by the body in 4-6 months and have results that last for 18-24 months.

What Problems Can Les Encres Cosmetic Thread Treatment Correct?

Thread treatments can add volume where it has been lost, and smooths fine lines and wrinkles. It can be used to treat:
⦁ forehead lines
⦁ brow droop
⦁ frown lines
⦁ crows’ feet
⦁ marionette lines
⦁ smile lines
⦁ lip lines
⦁ hollow cheeks
⦁ jowls (in their early stages)
⦁ aging skin
Les Encres thread treatment is performed using local anesthesia and typically takes an hour or two. When you come in for the treatment, the area of your face to be treated will be numbed to minimize discomfort. The threads are then inserted under the skin using fine needles, similar to those used for filler injections.
After the treatment is finished, you are free to go home or return to work.

What Can I Expect In Recovery?

Immediately after the treatment, you may experience some temporary soreness, swelling, and redness — similar to the effects of dermal filler injections. You will see an instant 20% improvement but true results will be visible in 3 months time. Some treatments will need 2-3 different appointments to get the results you are looking for

Does It Hurt?

You’ll feel a little pinch when the threads are inserted and pulled through the treatment area. Post-treatment, some people can experience a pulling sensation. Usually there are no signs of the treatment except for the occasional bruise.
You should look totally normal the next day.

What About The Results?

You will see a 20% improvement right away. But improvement will come as the thread dissolves and the body lays down new collagen, elastin and fibrin. It takes about four weeks to see the first results, with peak results at four to six months.

How Much Is It?

Depending on your goal, one treatment area could cost as low as $400. Sometimes to get the best results, a series of 2-3 treatments spaced over a few months will give you the best results.

Are PDO Threads safe?

Yes, PDO Threads have been approved by the FDA.  Les Encres Threads have been cleared by the FDA.

Where can PDO Threads be used?

Your provider can use PDO Threads in many applications on the face including the forehead, jowls, aging lines or scars. They can be used on body parts like arms, legs, buttocks and décolleté as well.

How are PDO threads inserted?

During a Les Encres Thread Treatment, a trained, licensed practitioner will place thin threads under the skin through tiny needle sites made in targeted areas.

Do PDO threads help create collagen?

Collagen is a key element in keeping our skin plump, firm and thick. The thicker the skin, the more defense it has against the tug of gravity. When PDO Threads are placed, the body thinks it needs to heal the area so it jump-starts the “healing response” and begins the natural production of collagen in that area. The increase of collagen means firmer, smoother skin.

Are PDO threads visible under the skin?

PDO Threads are tiny surgical sutures inserted under the skin using a small needle. Les Encres PDO Threads dissolve completely leaving behind new, healthy collagen in their place.

Are PDO Threads painful?

The treatment itself is nearly pain free. The healing typically does not keep you from your normal daily routine.

How long until I see results?

It will take about eight weeks to see noticeable effects of treatment. You will see increased benefits for the next few months as well.

How long do the results last?

The more youthful look achieved by Les Encres PDO Threads can last anywhere from 18 months to 4 years depending on treatment area and type of thread used. Individual results will vary.
